This organization is really a store/diner. This place has a store and a little place were you can eat. It has low prices. There are nice people that work there. The owner's name is Ziggy and he also works with his wife. They both are very nice people. When we were there he talked to us about how he used to work in a bar and his friend used to own the store, that the store is over 30 years old, and how the people changed: first it was Polish and Italian people, then, because they have more family they moved and more Puerto Ricans and Mexicans moved in. We went to his store as a class on July 8, 2010. You can find this place on Monticello and Wrightwood. We went here so we can get to know our neighborhood.

- Summer of Service and Leadership is a program offered to students of Chicago Public Schools. It allows us to experience and learn more about our community all while having fun. The students that participate aren't just Kelvyn Park High School students. It started off with our Freshman Connection program and branched out to the leaders of schools all over Chicago. As a student, I hope to learn more about my community and about the interesting lives that are taking place around me. Also, Karina would like to learn to open her mind to the community and to learn new things from the interesting people we meet throughout the summer. -Karina and Crystal
